From concept sketches to paint-stained ladders, every mural project comes with its own journey — and our collaboration with Aida Engineering was a memorable one.
This time, we headed down to Johor Bahru, the vibrant southern gateway of Malaysia, where creativity met industrial architecture in a massive 9-metre outdoor mural. Here’s a behind-the-scenes moment: we were mapping out symbols and icons for placement, and yes, it probably looked confusing at first glance. But trust the process!

The concept for the mural was inspired by Aida Engineering’s vision and aspirations, translating their story into a visual language of art. We were commissioned to illustrate their machines in intricate detail, thoughtfully arranged in a formation that reflects strength, unity, and purpose.
Step by step, the sketch started coming to life on the wall — and with the colours going in, everything began to shift from linework into something much more alive and dynamic.

Bringing their vision to life took a lot of attention to detail. We worked closely to make sure the illustration truly reflected the look and character of their machines, down to the finer elements.
It was about a week of careful sketching and refining, figuring out how to translate all those intricate machine details into a clean, accurate mural design.

We split the work into four main tasks so everything could move smoothly and efficiently on site. The colour palette we chose leans into soothing blues, with touches of green and other calming tones to balance the industrial feel.
We also experimented with different techniques along the way — like sponge stencils to create those soft, realistic cloud effects across the wall.
And when it all came together… wow. Such a beautiful finish — totally worth it!
