sypnosis
The last ten years of Claude Monet’s life, he painted his water garden. He was 86 years old and died of lung cancer. All of his paintings depicted a sense of happiness with nature and people. He enjoyed painting nature, boats, lakes and ponds as well as people.Monet chose to follow his personal intuition of being an artist, versus being in the grocery business as his father hoped. His paintings often reflected the subjects in sunlight and at other times of the day.His paintings have been said to reflect a characterized concentration of the immediate visual impression. He produced his painting by using a scene and by unmixed primary colors accented by small strokes to create true reflected light.Monet tried to commit suicide in 1868 due to financial issues. However, he married and had two sons and continued his successful life as an artist. After this, he focused on his famous “series paintings” and used his own garden for continual inspiration. One of his famous paintings is “Water Lilies”, which depicts a water lily and tree in the middle whose leaves are hanging down.In 1907, Monet began to have troubles with his eyesight. However, he continued is journey as a successful artist. The surgery affected his ability to see colors accurately. He was truly a gifted individual who shared his works with the world and should be remembered through history as he is quoted, “the founder of Impressionism. His desire and strength should be cherished forever!
