With all the tragic things that are happening in the world, now seems like an unusual time to talk about colour and positivity, yet staying motivated and positive is one of the most valuable recipe to help us in this crisis.
One of the first things that capture your attention is how much you miss the beautiful greenery outside, whether it is the plants in between the road divider or the little landscape right at the lobby as you walk to your office. A simple drive outside or taking in the fresh air right at your doorstep seems like a luxury.
It is so easy to get bored of the designs and feel of these places if it doesn’t stimulate you or interest you. A great home or home office should fill you with energy, and there are multiple ways to do it.

One of the easiest ways to turn your home and/or office into spaces that give you energy is to add the colour green. Green is a colour that adds freshness to any space. Think about a holiday where you are amidst trees and nature, swimming in a beautiful ocean that reflects all the nature around it. Without the colour green, that space wouldn’t be so serene. Due to this connect with nature, in many South-East Asian countries, green symbolises harmony. It is connected with nature and with harvest, a time of joy and prosperity, and is seen as a colour of new beginnings.
Maybe this is also why, i always find myself on a beach holiday somewhere (oh i miss those time). This is where i feel most refreshed and relax.

To add green in any space, you can simply add plants, both indoor and outdoor. Plants bring about a breath of fresh air and liven up any environment. Indoor plants such as sansevieria and spider plant are even known for their air purifying properties, making it great for urban homes and offices. You can choose to have a single plant or an indoor oasis, and whatever you opt for will bring in freshness to your eyes.
But if you are like me, always on the go (oh when the time comes), travelling and well, have a a problem with commitment (lol), having an artificial plant still lets you enjoy the physical effect of greenery without putting any effort. They are obviously easy to maintain and just as beautiful.

Another easy way to add the color is to add paintings which focus on green. You can add abstract, nature or landscape paintings to do this. Using paintings are also a great way to make your room elegant, or even quirky, depending on your style.
When you’re stressed out about life and work, and have no luxury of greenery outside your window, hanging up a green abstract oil painting or adding artificial plant will help you calm down, and may even transport you to beautiful places.
So add green to your space in multiple ways to bring in the joy of spring, and create a space that brings you energy and harmony, at the comfort of your space.
